I’m playing Final Fantasy VII and I’m right at the nothern cave (the final part of the game). And, while I think the game is good, I don’t think it needed random encounters.
I’m afraid I’m gonna experience the same thing once I start with Final Fantasy VI, but at least the world and the characters look interesting.
I think the only game where I accept this is probably Undertale, because, if I’d complain about it, the whole determination themes might be meaningless at the end of the game. And at least you can beat it in lvl 1. You don’t need grinding sessions.
EDIT: Oh, I forgot! It took me some time, but I managed to buy it.
I’m lucky that I got this game considering how bad its distribution was. Unfortunately I won’t have time to play it, but I heard great things about it.

It’s not that bad. The controls are a lot smoother and tighter than Super Metroid. I think you just get used to the double jump and going back to the beginning feels off. Goes for any Metroidvania really.
@Mikey
Nah navigating without it is a pain, especially the room with skulls and the falling bridges since if you don’t have it you have to reset the entire room after every failure,
