5XX Error

Hey folks I had figured it was a temporary server down thing…. But every time I upload an image, set tags and click submit I get a “5xx cloudfare error.” This has continued for several days. I’m not sure what’s going on how to resolve it. I don’t have any firewalls or anything of that nature up!

Is it any image / format? Are you uploading from a specific site, or from your machine? Some sites do not allow other sites to grab the images, since they require you to be logged in to see the image; iirc this applies to pixiv and inkbunny, but definitely more out there.

To add a datapoint, I uploaded a few things yesterday and ran into this with what felt like every other upload (I got 502 errors specifically). All local files from my machine.

Most of them went through after a reattempt a couple minutes later but one such reattempt resulted in a TLS error (don’t remember the specific error unfortunately) - that one worked on the third or fourth try.

5xx errors are server-side; they’re very unlikely to be caused by something under your control as an end user of the site.

I wonder what it is, I managed to get it uploaded by linking to the image on FA. I had been trying to upload from my usb thumb drive for my art files which works fine uploading everywhere else. At least I think I have a workaround now. I love the system here, it’s definitely better than FA so it was really sad when I kept having these issues!
