There are extensions / userscripts that can do this. I don’t really know where to find them given the whole “can’t hide anything” thing.

I have no idea if this has been suggested or not, but I would love a way to view favorited images in order of most recently favorited. It just feels more natural to me as a user than viewing the favorites list in order of when an image was uploaded.

As far as I can guess at the functionality, favoriting is likely not timestamped in any way, it just places a flag similar to a tag on an image, considering that you can search by it.

Why that? You just can enter the image number directly in the url?

because sometimes all we has is the number.  
in comments referring to another pic, or on another site referring to the pic.  
thus we needs to be able to put the number into the Search bar and get result.

while that does take you to the image, its in guest mode.  
and it means either going straight to the url or putting it into a search engine and getting lucky.

No it doesn’t. I’ve often used that method and I’ve stayed logged in every time. You only get logged out if you go from .ru to .org or from .org to .ru.

whats the diff beween the two anyway? (Org. vs ru)

Apart from .org as of recently being preferred over .ru (because Russia), there are no differences.

I’d have to look at implementation details, but when we rewrote everything to use interactions, they might have also gotten a timestamp. The initial batch is probably all at exactly the same time though, which for some people amounts to over 50.000 pictures.

It should be noted that relative links (just stuff past .org/.ru/etc. as the link) will allow you to stay on whatever domain you’re on, and the textile for links works in comments too. Example.

Yeah, ’s what I meant.

working links yes, but a lot of times referring stuff both here (mostly in comments) and on other places the link doesn’t link, or incomplete or such.
 
plus it would work for tracking down specific images for checking dupes and such.

If the link doesn’t work, it’s the fault of who posted it.  
I often just copy the number, open Derpi in a new tab, type a slash at the end and paste.

more of places that don’t allow links.  
the chan boards and such.
 
plus coding in links is a bit… confusing, specially if one is used to Copy, paste, link done.

Or just use the comment preview window of any page to quickly throw a >> in front of the number. You don’t have to actually post the comment or anything.

is it possible to include a sort of…search suggestion?  
like, if i don’t know the exact name or spelling of an artist, and i type what i know into the search it comes as:  
“We’re sorry, but we couldn’t find anything for * whatever you typed**”  
it then adds  
“Did you mean ** something that could be related*””  
or  
“Here are suggestions that could be what you’re looking for”
 
example: i want to find artist:shepherd0821, but i can only remember “artist:shepherd”, so i type that and it says “did you mean artist:shepherd0821”

Right now it seems like the three image sizes are fit to screen, page width, and full size. But for wide images, the first two sizes are effectively the same.
 
Would it be possible for the site to detect which dimension is being limited in the small size so that the medium size limits the other one instead? That way wide images on the middle size would be scaled to screen height so it would be as big as possible while still only requiring you to scroll in one direction.

Nice suggestion. Might have to do something smart with edit distance or something (basically, have some measure of how close two strings are).
 
For starters I want search to have something akin to fancy tag edits, where you type the first few letters and it starts giving simple suggestions. Maybe we can add edit distance suggestions if there’s not many. Or have a thing in the tagbox that does what the /tags/ page does.

Yeah, not too sure on suggestions for search. It’s bad enough that if I start tagging bon bon it suggests bondage, that sort of thing will start happening to a lot more people if it’s on searching as well.

Ah, didn’t quite think that far ahead. Then again, I don’t recall ever tagging bon bon so that might have something to do with it…
