Filters only hide things from some people. Censorship can hide them from all people - at least on this site.

Being a porn artist comes with a crowd of people who’d prefer to see you driven off any given site, or even the internet as a whole, as part of the default starter pack. I’d imagine that teaches them caution. Though a few seem to miss or forget that lesson.
artists who willingly create and distribute the tools to censor themselves are scary and weird.
When I was a kid, the fight for free expression in the arts was still being fought. As I grew up, that fight appeared to have been won decisively and I was looking forward to a world free of the need to hide your expression because of the puritanical moralising of a self-appointed clique.
It’s strange to see this new generation (and many of my own) fighting so desperately to roll back the clock to a time when making the wrong kind of art would leave you socially ostracised at best, and in jail at worst.
You constantly ask THE SAME QUESTION OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN, to the SAME people.

As for why people might want to walk back appaarent gains… well, ever heard of “be careful what you wish for?” It maybe wasn’t until people had free expression that they could realise it had downsides too.
