I still don’t understand what you mean by “bait” - it seems to convey some sense of insincerity or bad faith, which I find quite insulting. Or does it refer to challenging the flaws in your ideology?

Speaking as someone who has functionally been on both sides of this whole censorship thing, I can only repeat what I’ve said before: artists who willingly create and distribute the tools to censor themselves are scary and weird.
 
But at the same time, Derpi has always censored, and I’d be a hypocrite to deny that. The difference between then and now is that the censorship was limited to personal attacks, low-effort trolling and basically anything that was just genuinely poor quality. Moderation of art was primarily concerned with quality rather than any particular ideological issue. It was treated more leniently than commentary. That’s the system I prefer for an archive like this, and the system that I moderated under.
 
When I was a kid, the fight for free expression in the arts was still being fought. As I grew up, that fight appeared to have been won decisively and I was looking forward to a world free of the need to hide your expression because of the puritanical moralising of a self-appointed clique.
 
It’s strange to see this new generation (and many of my own) fighting so desperately to roll back the clock to a time when making the wrong kind of art would leave you socially ostracised at best, and in jail at worst.

Because see, it’s not to censor themselves, it’s to censor nutsees.  
And the ringleader intentionally does not clarify the meaning (try to get literallwho or dilarus to do it somewhere he can’t just block you, if you want to watch a slimy snakedance) so that everyone can naturally assume it refers to what they understand as “nazi”, while said ringleader just points the mob at ideologically inconvenient targets with zero relation but accidents to the conventional meaning of “nazi”.

And puritanical moralising of self-appointed cliques will keep happening for as long as humans are humans - or IMO, as long as they’re allowed to behave like prepubescent children after puberty. As long as the world is a kindergarten.

Why are people not stepping back and think. Maybe a measure of basic moderation is common sense?
 
I know vast majority here are defending against censorship in general, not because of the content being censored.
 
But, take a step back- are you really wondering why alot of people are ref to the Anti-Censorship brigade as Nazi’s? You’re fighting this issue on the wrong hill- over Nazi content

Well, this is certainly a more self-aware position than many.
 
As for why people might want to walk back appaarent gains… well, ever heard of “be careful what you wish for?” It maybe wasn’t until people had free expression that they could realise it had downsides too.

If mouthpieces were the ones being censored, I’d fight for that too. Hell, communist stuff is banned right now, that’s what I’m fighting too. I ain’t stepping back for anything. I know what I’m fighting for. Don’t care what people with 1 (one) wrinkle in their brains convince themselves of what I am fighting for.

I don’t find this argument particularly compelling. It was a long and difficult uphill battle to secure and maintain those rights, whereas rolling them back is easy because it plays right into the very worst urges of mankind, to suppress difference and enforce conformity to narrow dogma, and once that ball starts rolling, it’s nearly impossible to stop for those same reasons.

Fighting for your right to speak doesn’t nescessarily mean fighting for everyone’s - especially those who would like to silence you.
 
And if any censorship will grow out of control, do you think we should repeal Rule 0?

Only if you fought out of the conviction your speech should be free just because it is speech, and not because you believed it to be true or good or unfairly censored.
