Also a couple more minor notes: I’d probably remove the comma in the second sentence and change “ok” in the second paragraph to “OK” or “okay”. These aren’t really incorrect though, just my suggestions.
We would like to announce an update to our “Do Not Post” (DNP) system. For the past several years, our DNP list has simply been a forum thread with a list of names and restrictions on it. While this has worked alright so far, the list has become somewhat difficult to maintain, and was dependent on keeping track/frequently checking the list.
In order to help respect the rights and wishes of artists, and to make it easier for uploaders to avoid accidentally posting DNP content, we are introducing a new DNP system that is built into the website. This new system walks artists with a verified user link/tag through the process of requesting a restriction on the uploading of their artwork (such as “no edits”, or “artist upload only”). Additionally, it will display a DNP notice automatically on tag pages, and will soon display a warning on the upload page as well.
The new system can be found here. All new requests to be added to the DNP list should be done by going to that page and clicking the “Create an entry” link. Note that that link will only be visible if you are logged in and have a verified user link.
Please note, however, that we are currently migrating the old DNP list to the new one, so for the time being, the old list, located here, is still the official list. One the migration is completed, the new listing system will be the official DNP list.
Note: If you are currently on the old DNP list, there is no need to submit a new request on the new list.
Finally, you may notice that there is no longer a “General” section/listing type. While the previous list had a general section which meant “no uploads at all”, the official rule is that artists may always upload their work. Because of that, the general list has been merged into “Artist Upload Only”. If an artist does not wish for their art to be posted on this site at all, they simply need to request an “Artist Upload Only” DNP, and then simply not upload any of their work.
If a name isn’t on either list, it’s not DNP.
