Sounds like a lot of hoopla.
I bet they don’t release it until long after the movie; and even if they do release it before the end of G4’s cycle, it will be crap and riddled with bugs because “who cares, video games aren’t for little girls”.

I’m surprised Wizards of the Coast isn’t involved since Hasbro owns the company. It would have been funny after that April Fools Day joke they did one time about making a My Little Pony RPG.
Tails of Equestria uses a simple system as you’d expect from a game aimed at kids. A simplistic system may not provide enough depth to satisfy adults but if it gets kids interested in tabletop gaming that is a good thing. Maybe I’ll check out Tails of Equestria once it’s published to see how it compares to the RPGs the fandom has made.

It’s a pony adaptation for Pathfinder. I’ve seen the Ponyfinder books on drive thru rpg but the price is a little high just to sate my curiosity. What about it?

I actually intentionally avoided reading anything at all about Ponyfinder, so that I didn’t fall into the trap of copying things for my own RPG adaptation, which you can find here: MLP:45e
I do know that Pathfinder has a bazillion supplements and can be intimidating to newbies, depending on what the DM uses in their game. I went with the much simpler D&D 5th edition, which I feel is a great fit for MLP and is very easy to get into.
As for this licensed RPG, it looks like it’s aimed primarily at young kids and families, so that’s fine, but it’s probably not something that is going to satisfy most adult fans.
