Best Princess

Obviously the best answer is Celestia. I know. It’s not fair to start a topic where the answer is so obvious but some people might disagree with me. They might say Luna, or Cadance, or even Twilight. So, Who is the best princess and why?

She’s the one on day shift. She’s the one who deals with all the shit getting stirred by whomever has a political axe to grind (and there’s always someone). She’s the one who entertains foreign dignitaries, fills out paperwork, et cetera. And she’s been clearly shown to have the final word when a decision needs making.
 
That’s about as singlehanded as a government gets.

In all seriousness, the “one at a time” power arrangement is asinine. In universe, both at once would work better.

In all seriousness, a 50-50 power split has been tried both in-universe and IRL. It never works.

If anything, “meant to rule together” implies it was the one princess only arrangement that was suboptimal.

Diarchies don’t work, Celestia wears the pants in both of her main relationships.

Luna for actually having character development. As it stands, Celestia has boundless potential as a character, but little actual substance. Cadence is essentially a mini-Celestia, and Twilight… the less said, the better. I don’t want to start any more shit.

Cadance, because she controls an empire that could theoretically conquer the world through the power of love, not to mention that most of her subjects aren’t douchebags akin to the ones you find in Canterlot.
 
In terms of narrative and character structure however, Twilight and Luna, since they both have had arcs, and gasp! have grown as characters.
