Okay, people who don’t like G5 are doing that. Here, an example.

Perfectly wholesome G5 imagery. Comment goes “Sorry G5 fans, characters look stupid and it’s over”. No source, no evidence, just speculation and random hate. This never happens with G4 now, does it?

… Yeah, like no one ever had to be banned from the site for endlessly complaining about ships in G4, or trolling people who liked individual characters, and we never had ANYONE throw a LITERAL CHAIR at a writer during a convention in G4 because of ‘wings’.

Why or how have you gotten any impression that I am not a fan of Generation Five? How the hell would you even make an assumption like that?

I agree with you about that, being pessimistic is one thing, but it seems the g5 haters intentionally want the generation to fail, they take pleasure in that and want to ensure that no one takes advantage of the generation.

Or, as previously mentioned (like, a lot) report them if they’re doing it on G5 images or fanart where it’s inappropriate.

There’s just a handful of jerks doing stuff like that, usually on a whole bunch of images, and when they’re reported we can get them IDed and kicked off the site again.

Sure - some of them are repeat offenders. But we usually only have a very limited number of those that we are constantly managing, like that lolcow that keeps being massively triggered by their waifu being drawn having sex with “someone who isn’t them” or having a larger penis than they do.

And the faster we can get them off the site, the better everything is for everyone else.

Okay, that’s even worse. No idea what he did to the figures (please enlighten me), but at least MLP is still ongoing, even if there’s only the TYT shorts and no new toys.

I know people definitely complain about G4, something that’s been going on for years, but what I mean is generational argument in general always seems more one sided. Like River Mines said, G5 haters seem much more hellbent on getting their messages across than the other way around. I guess that’s natural seeing how G4 had an impact on both sides. I still remember seeing someone say G5 divided the fandom and thousands of background ponies saying how Hasbro “cancelled” G5. I know I can just report things, but like I’ve seen people just talk negatively about G5 the whole time and nothing happened to them. I wouldn’t know if that’s even rule breaking. The overall problem is still there which is that it feels like hating G5 is the “right” opinion when so many users speak out against it. With the complaints within G4 I can usually see a bigger presence of both sides being represented, but with G4 vs G5 I feel like only one side gets to talk. I also know it’s the vocal minority thing again but they’re really loud and obnoxious.

I found out a teenage artist got bullied off twitter because they drew a humanised Pinkie Pie as black

I get the art wasn’t for everyone, but the fact people decided to gang up and bully them for it was awful.

If the one below is the one you’re referring to, then I’m thinking her being black is not what upset people. Not that it’s any excuse at all to bully anyone over, but blaming it on that one singular thing is like saying people didn’t like a cake just because of the sprinkles and not mentioning the half kilo of rock salt used to bake it.

Yeah I’m not a fan of how the drawing looks because of the art style, but I would never go out of my way to harass the artist for it, I just ignore it and move on.

Most artwork of any mane 6 as black will be filled with just with racist comments no matter the quality
