Maybe she’s lonely? One headcanon that I have is that she’s promiscuous and would do anything to woo in a guy. I mean, in “Putting Your Hoof Down”, it is shown that she uses flirtation to her advantage, so maybe she’s desperately looking for that perfect stallion?

Except, that was manipulation, which blatantly paints her in a bad light and completely contradicts her character – and if you were too take the MrEnter route, it eventually makes Rarity look worse.  
If she’s really that desperately lonely, she should try talking to a stallion, colt, or mare the same way any normal pony would and quit trying to hide her flirtatious / horny implications. Another thing I’ve noticed is that Rarity seems to go after the wrong ponies. She seems to go after the famous celebrity snob characters, which is technically not a good character trait nor a good influence on those who like her.  
She should try going after the right one based on his/her personality and behavior instead of how famous or rich he/she is.  
As for her crybaby behaviour, well, that’s a topic for another day…

I thought the Cerebus writer just got like really depressed and shit and it bled heavily into his work…
