It’s been my opinion that the montage at the end of S5 was, save for the lack of hairstyle change, a glimpse into what S6 might bring, that it was a look into the future. Maybe an imagine spot Starlight has.

This whole comparison treats the two shows like they’re even slightly similar in nature, despite your acknowledgement that they’re in disparate leagues. Avatar is a far more realistic show in general and has higher stakes. Heck, Zuko was the longest-term prominent villain of ATLA while Starlight was just the seasonal villain of MLP, who only had a major role in 4 of episodes you saw. That means she had less time to establish herself as a thorn through the spleen like Zuko has. This sums up as wanting MLP to be the next ATLA, yet the better a show is, the more it will be different.
Like Jarkes has said multiple times, throughout S6, Starlight faces an internal conflict, believing that the forgiveness from the Mane 6 is undeserved.
