If Digimon has taught me anything, it’s that leaders and protagonists wear goggles.
Plus, since her eyes are now Ruby’s strongest weapon (barring any unfortunate side-effects of overuse looking at you, Mangekyo Sharingan), it makes sense to protect them with something both practical and stylish!
I’d also make the case that (almost) every speedster wears goggles or a mask to prevent bugs from flying into their eyes, but Ruby’s speed also apparently makes her semi-intangible, so that may not be an issue.
