how would I convince somebody that it isn’t better to just cash in their chips while they’re ahead? metaphorically speaking, your influence grows slowly, the more you nurture it of course, that is something you should think about if you want to leave something behind that you’d be proud of yourself for.
but that’s kind of my outlook on life as a whole. I don’t want to impress anyone but myself, maybe in the long run that’s a self-defeated, or self-defeating argument, but it’s better than to live up to someone else’s expectations most of the time.. Although, there is a bit of a contrast in that, or even a contradiction of sorts in certain cases, I don’t function on this main principle alone robotically, I do look up to other people and allow to be inspired by them, I can even sometimes live up to someone’s expectations, someone who deserves that kind of conviction in my mind, but at the same time, all that still comes around to me being satisfied with who I am and who I am growing up to become.
I’m just one of many people striving to be better, that’s just how I see living and the only reason I’m a bit of a misanthrope is because, of the same reasons why some people can’t stomach most people. Stupidity, ignorance, hazardous existence to others, etc.. there’s a lot of things to loathe about the human race, too many I’d say, but that doesn’t matter, my misanthropy doesn’t matter even, what matters is how I live my life and that’s what I choose to do with it.
