It’s not so much MewTwo’s ability, but rather the larger plan. I thought just mind-controlling MewTwo so that he could move again, and also be all-powerful was an excellent twist; that alone would’ve been more than enough. It actually reminded me of “Get Out”. Then they revealed that the plan was to put humans in Pokemon bodies, and I just checked out and stopped caring.
 
The Ditto twist I thought was very clever.

Yeah, loved that twist with the Ditto. It was surprisingly unexpected, despite the fact they showed us Ditto transforming into a person early in the film.

I find it interesting that there are two different types of elves depicted in fiction: High-fantasy elves, known for their slender bodies, long hair, and knowledge of magic… and Santa Claus’s elves, known for being really short and making toys.

Modern fairies at least. In old folklore, it was goblins who helped around the house, like Brownies and Hobgoblins.
