I was never religious to begin with but I did believe there was something, however as I got older, particularly in the past 4 or so years I turned away from it entirely and I do not miss it whatsoever. I guess it helps I was never raised as such except going to church for a few years before my nonreligious mother felt it was pointless, I also had first communion, I was “catholic”.
Now, I don’t think there’s a gap to fill, because I have science and atheism for that. As for me, I think believing in an afterlife is a bit of an empty comfort.
I believe there’s nothing but void after death, but that just makes me want to have a more fulfilling life, and make most of it. Make my impact on the world.
