17 years since i first began outright rejecting religion, #Noregrets

I was never religious to begin with but I did believe there was something, however as I got older, particularly in the past 4 or so years I turned away from it entirely and I do not miss it whatsoever. I guess it helps I was never raised as such except going to church for a few years before my nonreligious mother felt it was pointless, I also had first communion, I was “catholic”.  
Now, I don’t think there’s a gap to fill, because I have science and atheism for that. As for me, I think believing in an afterlife is a bit of an empty comfort.  
I believe there’s nothing but void after death, but that just makes me want to have a more fulfilling life, and make most of it. Make my impact on the world.

Heh, I was Roman Catholic and I use to say two prayers a day and attend Salvation army church every sunday. The spiritual side I miss but also the sense of community, social aspect and the sense of belonging.
 
 
But, You can’t get your faith back once you willingly let it go. Attempts to do so feel insincere and hollow.

Yeah. I am not trying to sound sacrilegious for comparing these two things, but losing your religion feels a lot like losing your belief in Santa Claus (or any other living holiday symbol). You can firmly believe in something, but when you fully lose your faith, it’s just gone. You can’t will yourself to believe in these things again, but it is possible for some people to regain their faith.

Republicans are apparently upset that Trump won’t tap his own campaign funds to help them fight for control of the house and senate, this is of course not surprising, trump is famously cheap, and has according to some been using that money to help cover his mounting legal bills,

Hell it wouldn’t surprise me if he praised Saudi Arabia for murdering that reporter. The fact that he’s doing fuck all or tiptoeing the issue for “the sake of the arms deal” speaks volumes
