Statism, as I know it, is the belief that the state should have substantial control over social and economic affairs.
 
I don’t want totalitarianism, I just say that laws and regulations are necessary to keep society from utterly collapsing into a chaotic mess.

Nah. It’s Jake Tapper calling out Sean Spicer’s bullshit. At the press conference today, Spicer complained about the media calling the Muslim ban a “ban,” even though Trump used the word on Twitter and Spicer himself used it on Sunday and Monday to describe the executive order.

The problem I think is that Trump is used to private business where keeping people on message only involves a few dozen people, and maybe a couple hundred at most. But now it’s thousands of people who are trying to figure out how to do their jobs based on what the White House is telling them, and just like we saw with the press blackouts on the campaign trail, some of the things that are clear to Trump aren’t clear to others.
 
So, day by day the message changes, because putting together something that can survive contact with reality for a week at the national level is still a very new learning curve for Trump and his closest advisors.
 
If they weren’t so fragile about “keeping it right” after the horse has already left the barn, and would actually take the time to “get it right” before making the edicts public, I don’t think it would be such a problem.

Also remember; Trump didn’t make the countries on the Travel ban, Obama did. He just signed the papers instituting what Obama started. Oh right, can’t blame Obama. He’s black and a democrat so anything he did is absolved and thrown on anyone else.
