7.4% is indeed a large number, but so is 92.6%.  
Problem is, the refugees who do this sort of trouble are a minority. If the americans are welcoming enoughh, yet ensuring enough that these refugees are in another country with different customs, then it is probable that they’ll reciprocate the kindness.  
Fact is, most refugees who come to europe are well-educated, some are even secular-abiding, most of the problem is the europeans being divided on how to treat them.  
About 45% of all european refugees are unemployed, and most of the cause is discrimination from employers. If the european institutions could punish those who discriminate on a religious bias and allow employers to learn how to speak arabic, we’d see these refugees being useful.  
The USA is in #25 of the 46 countries with syrian refugees when it comes to number, and the country only hosts 16 thousand of them. Turkey, on the other hand, hosts 2.7 million of the 5 million refugees from the war.  
I’m pretty sure the USA can handle more of them. Not to mention that there is no land route from the middle east to the USA, so those refugees who come are wealthy enough to purchase airplane tickets.

Well people are always suffering and dying in the world. Like two billion people on the planet go hungry at night and shit, we’re in a mass extinction that is currently killing a couple million people a year, etc.

By 2050 the entire middle east region will be uninhabitable. Most of the oil fields in the middle east have at most say thirty years left in them, the region is rapidly losing arable land, rapidly losing clean water sources, etc.

I guess my point is that the ENTIRE middle east region in the long run is fucked and if you think the refugee crisis is bad currently it’s going to get exponentially worse over the next couple of decades due to the long term projected pretty much collapse of the region’s ability to produce food and strained water sources. No matter who wins they’re pretty fucked cause by the time the war ends their economy will be so utterly in ruins that by the time they’re in any way capable of handling diminishing arable land it’ll already be too late.
 
You can’t save everyone.
 
We’ve already past the amount of co2 in the atmosphere to make the world two degree Celsius hotter so no matter what happens the middle east is fucked.

Well, if we actually make an effort (say, by helping the environment and intervening in the region without the goal of estabilishing oil puppet regimes), we can help that region develop itself, and prevent it from going too unstable. Politically and economically.  
We can’t just keep it as a powder keg for too long.

Will something like “The Day after Tomorrow” happen if the polar ice melts?

2050 is still a ways off. If we can get the house and senate to switch sides next year and the current president replaced 2 years after that, there might still be a chance to stop that. It’s worth remembering, after all, that despite the current political situation more than half the people in the US now accept climate change as a legitimate thing. If we can just keep pushing the issue, we might still be able to stop this scenario from taking place.
 
If not, well, I’ll be pretty close to 70 by then. I guess that’s a decent amount of life to have lived.

Perhaps yes. But the melting of the caps will be more of a “gradual leak” than a “flood”, as shown in the movie. Expect occasional, but not ginormous, floods.

I don’t really know what the word for it is, but I find it kinda silly to be posting about who you voted for everywhere once you casted a vote.
 
Like I thought a vote was supposed to be kept secret, why would you post on social media who you voted for, for everyone to see?
