I still cant believe that trailer exist. Its just… almost impossible for that to be created. I mean, lootboxing was a controversial topic that was related about gambling for a while, corporations tried to save themselfs by claiming this wasnt true, because “surprise mechanics”… And suddenly 2K throws us THIS game with full CASINO GAMEPLAY MECHANICS IN A MOTHERFUCKING BASKETBALL GAME OUT OF NOWHERE.

Exactly. There’s a reason 2K showed them side-by-side with casino games like roulette and slot machines in their NBA trailer.

I think they thought it was safe with the ruling that lootboxes weren’t legally gambling and how they have the PEGI and ESRB in their pockets (According to PEGI, NBA with literal slot machines is more kid friendly than Pokemon), so they either thought they could get away with it or didn’t care.

Concerned fans should not only give Mario Kart Tour ratings it deserves, but also write to Nintendo letters that they should reconsider and say “you aren’t special” towards the mobile market.

Nintendo’s never been “Good”, they’re just slower than everyone else on taking up the latest trends because they’re a hundred year old traditional Japanese company. That they started off as a gambling card business and still charge $20-30 for 30 year old games should hint at where they stand in regards to their consumers…

They’ve been doing microtransactions for a while, but it wasn’t to bullshit levels yet. And microtransactions aren’t even the main issue here. The issue here is having a $60 a year subscription ON TOP of microtransactions, and locking content behind that subscription.

Over 100 years old yeah, sure. But starting off as a gambling card business and jumping right to charging $20, if not 25 or $30 for games on their current flagship console is an oversimplification. Seriously, I get that Mario Kart Tour is plagued with problems, sure. But going “grr pRiVaTE cOmPaNiEs bAd like this won’t fix it. Also, I’m not surprised, seeing as you are more of a PC and PS4 person.

No company truly cares about consumers. It’s always about the money at the end of the day. Even CDPR only truly cares about money. They just know it’s smarter to go for long term profits because short term profits will only go so far.
