The Vase isn’t a Thousand Years Old, Shinning Armor Stated near the end, that He intended Twilight to be there Crystaler.
 
The Vase’s Artwork depicts Shining Armor as the King, Cadance as the Queen, Flurry Heart as the Baby, Twilight as the Crystaler, and the Mane 5 as the crowd.
 
It is a Priceless Royal, commission.

So if this was meant to be a thousand-year old vase, and it instead displays present-day characters, then the vase is an anachronism, or that the Mane Six and the royal family were mistaken.
 
Unless, however, the Mane Six and the royal family happen to resemble the vase’s characters.
 
I also guess, since this vase is supposed to be a thousand years’ old (just after Luna’s banishment), this may hint of either the existence of other alicorns, or it is just that the characters are a fictional example of a Crystalling. Or, these might be Cadance’s ancestors!

Wait a second. Is it just me or those 6 ponies in the 4th pic look extremely familiar? Even their CutieMarks look familiar.

The vase isn’t a 1.000 years old, merchandicing just works fast.

Wait so this vase is from the last crystalling, and that was over a thousand years ago.  
BUT  
The main 6, a unicorn father, and Alicorn mother where there last time a crystalling happened?  
and yes I know twilight wasn’t the one presenting the baby.

The parents look like Cadence and shining and the Crystalier is an alicorn who suspiciously looks like Twilight. That’s why I commented about time travel.

I think it’s just a visual aid to illustrate what should happen. Otherwise it would not contain lookalikes of ponies living now. Or is this a prophetic urn?

Think it is a mix of making it more powerful and sustaining it. Itv kidna broked…. Think it shoulda been said that the heart had become frail because it has been a thousand years since the last crystalling. Going by that logic and it does make sense if it needs this ritual.
