“Ow! Hey!” A muffled voice from the book says, “What was that for?”
 
Emerald asks if the book did anything to Ruby.
 
“Uh… No? I just heard it trying to talk to me so I picked it up.” Ruby says with a shrug.
 
“Yeah! I didn’t get a chance to do anything!” Pip says, and then after a moments reflection she continues, “I mean I wasn’t going to do anything! It’s not like she has the key to open the locks anyway.”
 
Emerald glares at the book, not even sure if the demon can see him.
 
“Uhh… So what’s going on here exactly?” Ruby says, utterly confused.
