Not a Llama - Happy April Fools Day!
Friendship, Art, and Magic (2017) - Celebrated Derpibooru's five year anniversary with friends.

The idea has no doubt already been used in a fanfiction or story blog somewhere, but perhaps Queen Chrysalis transformed Princess Celestia into a changeling so that Tia could develop sympathy/empathy for non pony races. And think of them as people instead of vermin/a threat to get rid of.
 
And Celestia is still beautiful and tall since turning her into a small drone might seem a bit excessive, not to mention make it harder to find her in a crowd.

And that’s how Celestia is going to win. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not in months or even years.
 
But it’d be just like Chrysalis to assume that Celestia has fully fallen from grace, and is no longer a threat. And that will be her last mistake.

Her disguise and plan fooled everyone, she just worked the wedding to her advantage. Her plan was for Twilight to kill Cadence and stay stuck in the cave (Two birds, one stone.) and if it wasn’t for Cadences’ “Sunshine, sunshine” dance it would’ve worked.
 
And her fighting Celestia…got me there. Luck won more than anything for that one.

Chrysalis? Savvy? She lost because she made just about every villain mistake possible. Her disguise sucked, had everypony not been blinded by wedding fever she would have been found out in minutes. She trapped Twilight in the same place she trapped Cadence, and then when she won she basically turned her back on Twilight again. Is there a reason she couldn’t have had them imprisoned elsewhere?
 
And Chrysalis was hardly prepared to fight Celestia in the first place. She was downright surprised she was even alive.
 
Chrysalis made an oops. A big one.

I kinda like the idea of a changeling not being able to turn into their old selves, makes it feel more like a curse.
 
She’d still get lots of love anyways.

Chrysalis is probably savvy enough to see a threat when it comes to her, and will do everything in her power to limit Celly and make sure she never regains her full power.
 
Not to say Celestia won’t try anyway, then there’s Luna and depending what she’s doing it could make all the difference.

Yeah, but ponies would still love their real princess. And if Celestia could figure out how to move the sun once, she can do it again after learning the ins and outs of her new body.
 
The rebellion will be short, brutal, and very decisive. And it will be fought by one pony. Well, one changeling. I don’t see the problem here.

So everypony loves the Princess and she can make herself look exactly as she used too. The only real change is she is now Queen Celestia.

She was absolutely horrified, until she realized that one, she can just disguise herself as her old self. And two, as the most loved changeling in the world… If she wasn’t a physical god before, she is now.
