Eh, I stand by my opinion that both Sci-Twi and Pony-Twi work better as supporting characters than main characters, whether it’s EQG or the show itself; whereas Sunset works well both as a supporting character and/or the main character.

We already know the focus is going to be on Sci-Twi this movie. She has to be fleshed out more and we get a chance to see her take a leadership role in this movie.

Eh, Sunset has been the main character ever since Rainbow Rocks, why wouldn’t she also be here? Covers really don’t mean much.
 
Though I do expect human Twilight to have a lot more focus, but I doubt she’s going to be the “chosen one” like in FiM (if anything, Sunset and the human Mane Six are all going to have major changes in this movie).

So people are really getting upset because Sunset is not on the center! That’s just sad. At least she’s present.

Because of Sunset’s greater involvement in the series, she is considering a very important character, and is. I’ve past compared EG to FFVI, which Sakaguchi has said he doesn’t consider Tina Bradford the main character, but considers every player character equally important, as evident by Celes being the main player character during the World of Ruin segment.

Of course Twilight’s the main character. It’s just that sometimes, it’s easy to forget. Although the Season 6 premiere can be excused, since Starlight’s going to be Twilight’s student, she is going to need the development.

Sunset Shimmer should be the main character of the, not some human version of Twily with a fused personality of Fluttershy and Season 1 Pony Twilight.

I agree, though. Her being unique in a transdimensional sense could be a very good story in a future entry. >:3

It is unfortunate that they still see Twilight as the main character. I had always hoped that we’d see Sunset Shimmer become the full on main character of the EQG series in order to give it a good sense of progression and lore. I want the series to basically get to the point where she’s in the human world for a reason and that it’s her destiny to help this world in particular. The deleted scenes from the Friendship games were such a good tease for this. It’d be so cool if she found out that there was no human world equivalent of herself and she was just an anomaly.

As I understand it, Hasbro’s various toylines are doing far better than its competitors simply because the films, shows, and other animations of MLP, MLP: EG, LPS, Transformers, et cetera, are of relatively good quality, and the animations of the aforementioned competition, Bratz, Barbie, Monster High, et cetera, are utter shit. Assuming these animations result in more toy sales, more animations will more than likely result in even more toy sales.
