True.
Well the show and movies did have characters being trapped and characters being corrupted already.
It does sound plausible, but not possible due to this being a TV-Y series.
Since Gloriosa’ point of trapping them there is to have company for eternity. That sounds plausible.
However. It could be more gruesome. That she devours them.
Sounds like fan fiction material, and far too dark for the actual series.
What happens if those people who got trapped under the roots are trapped for prolonged periods?
Would they become part of the forest and turn into Everfree themselves?
Fair enough.
Yeah
I know, you’re right that it was her decision to use the rest of the geodes, and I’m not saying that her decision to do so wasn’t bad and misguided or that she should be absolved of any wrongdoing for using some and then all of the geodes. This was her doing-something-extreme moment, like taking over Alcatraz or a hospital and holding people hostage. But I think about the circumstances that led her to that moment in the cave, and I feel sorry for her. It’s not so black-and-white, and it goes back to why I like antagonists like Gloriosa: engaging in drastic, morally-ambiguous action out of righteous indignation. These aren’t dark, shadowy figures sitting in a dark room who rub their hands together while grimacing over how they can take over the world and subjugate people into being their slaves (boring villains, IMHO). They’re just normal people who got screwed over and are now seeking justice.
Gloriosa may have been crazy, but she sought (or at least found) the magical geo. At the end of the original Equestria Girls movie, Sunset got punished for her misdeed. Every movie afterward: escaped (possibly homeless, but that’d be too dark and realistic for this series), forgiven, and forgiven. It seems like there is almost no real consequences anymore. Even Sunset’s is equivalent to a slap on the wrist. But whatever. Anything more would not be kid-friendly… I guess…
No, that’s a good point. Both men did bluff, so it’s not like they were actually going to shoot people in the hospital or launch VX gas over a city, even though they did hold people hostage. Gloriosa trapping the campers in was really crazy, but can you really say it was Gloriosa who was trapping those kids in? Or was it someone under the influence of Equestrian magic and not thinking straight?
Basically, John Q was just trying to save his dying son, and General Hummel just wanted to force the US Government to acknowledge the Marines he’s lost, and both men felt like they had no choice but to do extreme things to achieve their goals. And it’s like Gloriosa. She was about to lose something that’s been in her family for four generations. It was more than just a camp. It was a family heirloom.
I’ve never seen any of the movies you’ve mentioned, but besides the point. I do agree with everything else, though. Her saying it after transforming failed to be menacing, but doing it that way might be “too scary” for the target audience. That or the AV can’t really do menacing.
Well, I like Gloriosa because I’ve always liked the antagonists that had a point, like John Archibald in the movie John Q, General Hummel from The Rock, or the “bad guys” from the show Flashpoint. They’re the kind of gray-area “villains” that you might even consider to be the victims. I find them to be more interesting than villains who are evil just because (world domination, etc.)
Also, the whole “I’ve got this” phrase was to emphasize Gloriosa trying to handle everything on her own instead of asking for help like she should’ve, and I thought that was a nice touch.
I doubt they will return. The only reformed EqG villains that has returned are Sunset and Sci-Twi.
Also, the Sirens didn’t have a corrupted form. The projects (or whatever) are their true form. Plus, they were not redeemed. They, and the Shadowbolts, should return. Both groups are far more interesting than Gloriosa “I’ve Got This” Daisy” will ever be.
I hope she and her brother won’t return in future
Dhx should stop with these corrupted forms and pointless redemptions dammit:@
Edited
Okay. Please don’t rush. I’m certain everyone, including myself, will be patient. And, my previous comment, it was kinda a reference to Gloriosa’s catch phrase. I was kinda expecting a “Yes, I’ve got this” response. Or something akin to it.
Not yet, still have to get to tracing one.
You’ve got it?
That sounds real good.
I’ll definatley try and get one of those out too.
Great! Could we get some art of Gloriosa in her normal human form too? There’s a woeful lack of art of this pretty lady.
