I’m always taken aback when I see the title “Orson’s Farm” since I had one collection of “U.S. Acres” as a kid.

Gummy and Tank would communicate like Garfield characters. Opal, Winona, Owlowiscious, and Angel would talk like “Orson’s Farm” characters. And pony characters would talk as normal, but not respond to the pets talking.

Wait, so would they or would they not communicate like in the Garfield portion of Garfield & Friends?  
Also, in such an episode, the ponies should only use neighs & other such real horse sounds.

On the topic of Opal speaking, the only time I would want that to happen is if they write an episode from all of the pets’ perspective. None of the ponies will be able to understand them, but the pets communicate with each other, and the story focuses on something they do to secretly save the day or something. Lee Tockar could reprise his role as Gummy, but still with his mouth not opening, like telepathically. Maybe the same for Tank, also a reptile. The other four pets could talk normall amongst each other.

I have this mental map, so to speak, pertaining to the character design in this show. I have this assumption that characters drawn with complex eyes, like Gina’s, they’re capable of speech.
 
Which makes me wonder if Rarity’s cat Opalescence is going to talk sooner or later. Opalescence also is drawn with complex eyes, and also facial expressions, unlike, say, the Cake Twins. Speaking of whom, shouldn’t they be capable of speech now, and almost the size Applebloom was when we first saw her?

If my first contact with a pony was Fluttershy, I would pretend to be a critter to get some of her TLC. Only Twilight would know to call that bluff. Maybe Lyra depending on fanon at play.
