I am nothing but satisfied with how this page came together, and even more so considering I had to do two pages of this comic within a month. Let’s hope next month isn’t as hectic, but then again we can also hope rain starts falling upwards. Some things aren’t just meant to be, you know what I’m saying? But anyways, page is done and it’s the darkest one by far in terms of tone and atmosphere.
This is perhaps the first time I was legitimately perturbed by what I was drawing. I took inspiration from the works of William Blake and Hieronymus Bosch for the scenes of pony genocide and death, and I’m not going to lie I kind of need a break after drawing something this depressing. You know how sometimes you need to get out one or two really sad/grim/gory drawings because you’re dealing with depression and anxiety? Well I guess I let those feelings take a hold of me when drawing this. I feel I’m kind of done, for now at least. Who knows what the future awaits?
