Not necessarily, I never really read Marvel comics as a kid, nor watched the cartoons as a kid, (I wasn’t that into that stuff, I was more of a Batman/TMNT kid) but I still enjoyed all the Marvel movies frankly.

I don’t think theater is what’s killing them, as in the case of the ’90s, and 2000s Batman movies they actually helped their cartoons.

I think the real reason cartoon superhero shows are dying out is because they’ve been adopted to film! Avengers was made for adults who grew up reading and watching Marvel.

For a long time now, Cartoon Network has had horrible presidents. First we had Stuart Synder and then we had Christina Miller. They would push action cartoons and anime (until that was dropped completely) to the early mornings where they would get little to no reruns and often would even go without advertising. Then they would use the excuse that the “ratings were low” to cancel them.

Of course Teen Titans Go is “popular”. For many years it was pretty much the only option on the network. But now that Warner Bros is in charge of Cartoon Network. Instead of getting all their DC shows cancelled, they might be changing things for the better and we might see the return of action cartoons on Cartoon Network.

I feel like unfortunately more serious superhero cartoons are dying off, as kids nowadays prefer more humorous shows. Say what you want about “Teen Titans Go,” but the kids love it, and that’s the kinda show that sells nowadays. My older sister’s kids won’t even sit through a whole ‘90s Batman DVD episode, as they find more serious stuff boring. I guess kids who grow up with SpongeBob, and such can only appreciate the TV screaming jokes at them, and haven’t learned how to appreciate more serious programs yet. There’s hardly anything more serious for kids nowadays, and because of that, even making a more serious/darker show is a risk now, as kids aren’t used to seeing that nowadays.
Some comical shows have snuck more serious stuff in at times, but it’s not enough apparently.

I feel Batman Brave and the Bold, TMNT 2012, and Justice League Action actually balance the humor, and action better then other comical superhero shows. What I like about those shows is, they have some dignity mixed with the sillyness.

I find Ben 10 to be one of the less offensive ones. Its humor is like the original series’ humor, an improvement on Omniverse’s, which revolved around Ben being a jerk and idiot to a degree never seen before.

Of course, the half that wasn’t jokes is to be missed, but that’s par for the course with these reboots.

I hate to think we’re seeing the end of an era, where “can we throw out ten minutes of jokes and sell as many toys as the epics of the past?” Is the mentality behind every cartoon. Even the ones that aren’t all jokes, like Transformers Cyberverse or Justice League Action, it’s like “joke, fight scene, joke, roll credits, done.” And you don’t get to slow down and have the moments that are important despite not having the instant gratification of a joke or an explosion. I fear the BEST case scenario will be like Ben 10 - all the surface elements of the original there, but not enough time to slow down and build characters, relationships, and a world the way the shows that came before the TTG model took over did.

well I don’t think it’s being done by Warner brothers or cartoon network so I doubt it

well I guess I’m terms of overall quality I guess it’s not as bad as teen titans Go all Powerpuff girls 2016 but on a more personal level because I was such a huge Ben 10 fan I hated it more.although I decided to just leave it alone and just not watch it

The other shows that people mention are the Ben 10 reboot and the 2019 Thundercats. I don’t mind the new Ben 10 though.

Only recent show I can think of that went the “Teen Titans Go” route recently is the current TMNT Nickelodeon reboot…
It’s not as good as the first 2012 Nick reboot.

I’m still worried G5 will be a Teen Titans Go-style reboot like many other cartoons have done. I’d relax some if we got confirmation about episode length.

This is exactly my fear too. But the newer Littlest Pet Shop and DC Superhero Girls have managed the 15-minute episode segment pretty well; I’d like to see more people give them a chance.

What about EQG?! Will they end that soon too? I mean it is tied to MLP FIM! D’oh I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I don’t want EQG to end!

I have a feeling these would be some of the characters to be “Thanos’d.”

Meanwhile, Twilight Sparkle would be trapped in the quantum realm.

Let’s not mnice words here:
The theatrical movie got clobbered by “Blade Runner 2049” at the box office.
The supposed target audience of little girls aren’t watching the show or buying the toys (as far as I know, most little girls are into “Sofia the First”, “Elena of avalor”, “The Lion Guard”, and anything else on the Disney Channel).
The haters made the entire franchise into a laughing stock.
And Hasbro just bought “Power Rangers”, a far more lucrtative franchise.
At this point, it makes more sense for the show to end.

G4 should’ve ended in Season 5; even though I think Season 7 is the best one we’ve had. I like and enjoy the newer episodes in a different light to the original 2 seasons and differently again from Season 3-5. So I don’t hate any of it in entirety; Starlight is my favorite Unicorn after all.

But from an objective, nonemotional standpoint, the show ending is different from a reboot; and I don’t see the latter doing anything different, except going back to making cheap-o girl toys. My suggestion from last year was that they should split Gen 5 into two shows. One is a CGI focusing on the CMC, aimed directly to compete with the aforementioned shows (which are Disney brands).

Then, launch into a new G5 that has an entirely different timeline and character focus… like all the other successful long-running franchises have done. Do something that keeps the same world, but breaths fresh air into it. Like either focus on a group of characters travelling outside Equestria in a travelling adventure (I figured this before the MLP movie came out). Or even a distant prequel that focuses on the early, developing years of Celestia and Luna.

In either case, free up the hands of the creators and make this new show open more towards a slightly older audience. Make something like Kim Possible, the original Teen Titans, etc.

Am i really the only one that wasnt suprised that MLP will end after the end of this decade ? Did anyone but me checked the previous Gen lenght ? They all roughly lasted one decade each.Plus come on people, they had 9 seasons,it’s not a bad run all things considered. Do you want them to keep going ad nauseam like The Simpsons ?
