I could dig up fifty tweets proving what I’m saying and you’d just dismiss them anyway, going on MY own experience.

You still haven’t provided a source for that. All you have to do is like to where they said that, It’s not that hard. If you can’t do that, I have no reason to believe you. I’m not going to take your word that any writer ever said any of those things. All you have to do is provide a source. Why is that so hard?

If you’re not willing to provide evidence for your claims, I’m not willing to accept them.

If you’re not willing to put in the effort to provide proof of your claims, I have no reason to accept them as true.

I hope that you to hold to your word by not continuing, but due to past experiences, I have reason to believe that you won’t, and will reply to me anyway.

People have asked the new writers as they came on if they’d followed the show previously, if they knew the established lore, etc. And a few have said they had not, and they weren’t even required to watch a single episode before writing one. THAT got a lot of negative attention.

What is your source for that? Even if that’s true, how do you know that they didn’t watch previous episodes after being hired? Also, what about story editors and the approval process?

The same marketing heads decided to can G4 simply so they could spin off G5 and do with it 100% what they wanted from the get-go. No, the two are not the same at all

So the complaints I read in the fandom about exactly that

The show’s never repeated past lessons, or ignored previous character development. Okay. Sure.

This show was headed my hasbro marketing as well. Pretty much every piece of media has heat executive involvement.

Pretty much every show has its own crew, and we don’t always know if they’re good. Do you worry about every upcoming show just because you are unfamiliar with its crew? You’re being unreasonable. Just give it the benefit of the doubt.

Very few recent episodes, huh? I seem to recall plenty in the fandom complaining about how quality was dropping a few seasons ago.

It’s not like the FIM crew are the only skilled people in the industry. There are tons of skilled people everywhere.

Very few recent episodes even do that. Never talk down to people for having a different opinion then you.

So sure, let’s just compare it to everything before and say changing all the crew shouldn’t worry people in the slightest. Because that’s what happened between the previous gens.

Yeah, because retreading stuff and ignoring past episodes is totally the key to great content!

Each of the cartoons in the franchise have had completely different crews. At most, G4 shares some VAs with G3. Besides, companies don’t like to hire unskilled songwriters.

Your opinion is not a fact. You should not make declarative statements when expressing an opinion.

The writing quality definitely started going downhill in the last few seasons.

I really hope there is significant turnover in the writer’s room. Otherwise, G5 will be a rehash of G4 with new designs and more world-building instructions from Hasbro.

Things carrying over the entire current team from G4 to G5 can do:

1. Re-tell stories from G4 without fans flipping out that it’s more or less a rerun (but the fans will complain anyway, so there’s no need for a reboot and the complainants would be better served by watching G4 reruns anyway)
2. Re-do episodes with poor execution. Or, they can use newer G4 characters (such as the students of the Friendship school that they dropped in) to re-tell the bombed episodes if it was the established Mane 6 dynamics that forced the episode to be out-of-character.
3. Be a known quantity (or you can just re-watch G4)

Daniel is the one person I’d most hope stays on for G5: if it’s mostly everyone else but him, G5 will just be G4 with weird-looking ponies and a bit more cartoon violence (if the TV-Y7 rating rumors are to be believed). Less of a chance to tell new stories and more of a chance to tell the same stories again but with different-looking ponies so fans have to buy the toys all over again.
