To be fair, this applies only to that scene. All other scenes, she couldn’t have teleported (Sombra’s crystal prisons have anti-teleport measures, as was showed in s03).

A lot of people trying to argue the three-in-one-year position forget about the Friendship Reports; along with Twilight Drinks The Red Bull and Schoolmarm Twilight, it’s one of the few solid timeline benchmarks we’ve gotten in a series that patently does not care about timelines.

The evidence as presented is convincing. A two year minimum for Season 1-3, with one Summer Sun Celebration skipped by Luna because she is still recovering (thus making Celestia still sad about the Summer Sun Celebration between Season 1 and Season 4), makes sense given the hard change point of Lesson Zero.

Friendship Is Magic was at the start of Summer; Fall Weather Friends was at the start of Autumn; Winter Wrap Up was the start of Spring, and it had to have been Twilight’s first Spring in Ponyville; assuming Equestrian schools have Summer Vacation, Return Of Harmony had to happen sometime during the school year; Luna Eclipsed was Horse Halloween, in the last part of Autumn, and from context– not only being in Season 2, but Twilight’s characterization– it was clearly not her first Autumn in Ponyville; Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 was in late Autumn; Hearth’s Warming Eve was the middle of Winter, and again, S2 and characterization made it abundantly clear that it was not Twilight’s first Winter in Ponyville; Hearts And Hooves Day was in the Spring.
 
To rearrange three show seasons’ worth of episodes into one year, you have to claim that Absolute Beginner Twilight from WWU in S1 came after her confident-and-fitting-in characterizations in Luna Eclipsed, SSCS6K, and HWE, as well as ignore the fact that Lesson Zero puts a hard timestamp between S1 and S2, when Twilight was no longer writing weekly Friendship Reports… of which at least 108 had accumulated prior to ROH, based on how many Celestia Spike-spammed to Twilight all at once. “Seasons 1-3 happened in one year” is an exploded theory, it simply cannot be fit into what we’ve seen onscreen without breaking the universe to a ridiculous degree.

Could you remind me what season specific events contradicted it being one year? About the only one I can think of is the first Hearth’s Warming Eve episode, since it would mean two winters have passed (the first being Winter Wrap Up). However, this is complicated by how inconsistent the show is regarding winter, the Hearth’s Warming episodes always being far apart from the episodes that detail the coming of or ending of winter (leading to theories I’ve heard that Hearths Warming doesn’t actually happen during winter, and the ponies just dress the land up like its winter for the sake of the windigo reference).

We saw in Luna Eclipsed that Luna was having a lot of trouble adjusting to life in the modern world, and given all the other season-specific episodes that came between then and the Summer Sun Celebration of the Series Premiere, those cannot have all happened in the same year. If it took Luna that long to fit back in, it makes perfect narrative sense that Celestia would have been miserable to see her sister still struggling during a festival dedicated to celebrating that sister’s banishment.
