Apofact: Apogee doesn’t do the ‘play dead’ truck with Houston any more. Now she does the ‘taser taser taser!’ trick. It’s the same trick.
It also works really well for LARPing.

There is nothing in this comic that would say that they were married. All that we know is that they lived together.
Even if they were never officially married, they lived together for a fair amount of time as a couple and have a kid between them. In some places that would be enough to consider them married in a legal sense without them ever having formally done so.
 
In any case, it was an offhand, semi-serious thought about a possible scenario that would explain another comment about Jet’s behavior made as (I presume) something of a joke. There’s no need to dig in that extensively here.

Apofact: Apogee’s Dad is terrified of courtrooms.
I actually find it quite easy to imagine him having some traumatic memories related to courtrooms as a result of separating from Delta. Because let’s be honest, there’s no way that would have been an amicable situation. Especially if they bring up how they ended up with Apogee. Like, I’m picturing two bailiffs restraining her from commencing an actual physical beating while he desperately wishes for the ability to turn invisible.
