Description

Earlier Sidorovich uploaded some Favorite Character graph without source or anything which kinda irked me, so here’s just a few graphs from a survey that studied the fandom.
 
The study was done after season 2 and explores much more than just favorite characters and while this likely is old news for many of you, if someone still hasn’t heard about this and is even slightly interested in things like this, I recommend you to read it.

Why is it that so many Rarity fans are so damn childish and unable to accept the fact that not everyone likes Rarity. At least here on Derpibooru they also seem to be most offensive against other ponies and their fans. They like to mock other ponies but get butthurt as soon as someone says something bad about Rarity. Hell, even this graph was enough even though it just shows what people like.

Since the Beginning -

Twilight being most favourite is not a surprise, considering she’s the main character. Nor is Fluttershy amongst the male fandom, because you are all weak.
 
Rarity being low ranked is surprising slightly, but makes sense. Applejack being the least ranked, while unfortunate, is not surprising at all. She’s got nothing going for her. Jack of all trades, master of none if you will.

Can’t say I’m surprised. Those of us with a more refined or… rarified taste will naturally gravitate towards the superior pony, who is so obviously Rarity. A popularity contest? Feh. My understanding is that there is more Bud Light sold than Westmalle Trippel, yet I know what I prefer in my glass. And some marshmallow pony on the side, please.

Rarity is the best characterized character…maybe that’s why people like Fluttershy so much, the weakest of them all in characterization.

I’m surprised by how Rarity is “Least Favorite”, but people were upset by the lack of her having an episode.

Huh. I find it interesting that Dash’s rating is exactly the same between male and female respondents. (.07% difference, which is pretty much negligible)
