I dunno she could’ve ment it as a term of endearment, also isn’t Applebloom 18 years of age in this universe? So even though she’s of “legal age” whats to say that AJ watches over her to keep her out of trouble only because Granny Smith is too busy overseeing operations back on the “farm”? Keep in mind that Equestrians have a crazy amount of longevity in their life-spans.

So Rarity is the captain, Fluttershy handles the medical needs, Twilight handles Intel and surveylance, Rainbow’s the gun-hand, Pinkie handles Kitchen duty as well as explosives (allegedly) and I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that Applejack handles the fencing and supplies. Though I’m still not quite sure what her role is in all this, but I still wouldn’t be surprised if Granny Smith ran something similar to the old Rip-off church like in Black Lagoon.

Man, Pinkie looks just as good in clothes in this canon as she does OUT of them!
