@Smart Heart
I had to look up the argument I made as to why it made the most sense from a storytelling standpoint, since it had been forever since I last made it, haha.
Basically, I felt that it would allow us to explore another aspect of his personality, characterize him further. I also felt it would be interesting, considering his prior relationship with Spike, and how that would interplay with the sibling-like relationship Smolder and Spike had developed.
I also felt that the other dragons basically had no characterization, just unique designs, so I felt it would be kind of a lazy cop out to have one of them be Smolder’s sensitive brother.
@Smart Heart
I would argue (and in fact did, multiple times) that Garble was the only one who would make sense as Smolder’s brother - I would hardly call it a Shyamalan twist, let alone stupid.

Thanks!
Why is that?

idk he did write “the happening” and “lady in the water” and “devil” and “the last airbender”
Even Shyamalan wouldn’t approve of such a twist that stupid.
