Part of growing up is realizing that your parents were lying to you and that honesty is not always the best policy.

Because some things are better left unsaid.

This is actually why I think Applejack’s element should have been Trust, not Honesty, because Trust is a positive consequence of honesty, instead of just being something that gets you in trouble when no one needed to know that you ate an extra Oreo in the first place.
