This may seem…wrong, but I feel an insane urge to smack Celestia for how hypocritical she’s being. She’s supposed to be kind, fair and reasonable, and she’s standing there REFUSING to allow them to be redeemed?

I agree that Twilight has the magical knowledge to summon the note & alter it (perhaps even doing it remotely if she knows exactly where it is or can see it with divination).

Please present evidence that this “magical knowledge to summon the note” or the ability to “see it with divination” exists either in canon or in the sub-universe of this comic. Otherwise, no, that’s not a solution.

Considering of those she only actively had any hand or action with Discord(whos’s reformation is it’s own can of worms and discussion) Tempest Shadow(by presence alone, otherwise they had zero interaction) and Luna.
Everything else has been Twilight acting on her own, or being pushed to fix the problem.
And even then her readiness to listen to Discord of all people and turn the three to stone rebukes that character developement.
And the comics arguably make her worse despite how much people try to cherry pick the early ones.

Celestia had character growth over that time, and throughout the show, this is basically taking it all back, disregarding the development and growth of their relationship, disregarding her trust in Twilight after she became the princess of friendship. So yes, the fact that she doesn’t just see this as twilight doing her thing, you know, the thing she’s the princess of, the element of, makes this out of character.
Its fine though, Twilight’s boutta pistol whip some sense into them anyway.

I’m going to point at all the punishments Celestia herself issued in the past and ask how exactly the exact same methods are out of character for the one who never redeemed anyone and instead tossed people away for 1000’s of years before passing them off to the next generation to deal with.
Just because it’s not sugar coated to sound morally right doesn’t mean it’s not in character.

The problem is Discord never learned. People going like “that’s his nature! He has good intention! Give him a break!” defending him like this, in real life that’s called enabling, excusing someone’s terrible actions so they feel like they’re allowed to do it again. It’s clearly evident we’re enabling Discord even though he isn’t real, because the show likes to make him do chaotic and bad things purely because that is who he is. And just because that’s literally in his name, doesn’t mean that should be all he does. Fluttershy learned to grow out of being shy, why can’t Discord do the same? And again, he could be chaotic without harming, manipulating, or being smug and full of himself.
The worse part is Discord sometimes gets better to get my hopes up. He tried to change himself because he feared Fluttershy wouldn’t like him, very considerate of him. Oops, he emotionally manipulated Fluttershy by faking being hurt by Sombra. He and Starlight helped save the world! Oops, he decided to screw with Starlight, insult her, and attack students with a bugbear. He secretly broke Sugar Belle’s wagon to help Big Mac. Oops, he also summoned 3 villains that he just left in a cave to do whatever they want while he was out there creating apple monsters out of laziness. I’m sorry but my opinion of this character will always be negative because he just constantly relapses and I fear Fluttershy’s safety if he is together with her in canon. Next time he actually injured Fluttershy people will still be like “That’s his nature! That’s what he does!” Yeah, just like you said, people like him because he is a funny jerk, emphasis on the jerk part. I’m so glad the guy that help the 3 villains destroy the world was also allowed to decide their fate. That’s certainly fair. If only Starlight Glimmer was given this much love when she actually tried to redeem herself.

Considering by your own logic the things you argue against are true, nah.
If Discord deserves to keep making mistakes that hurt everyone around him then these three are worthy of the same as are every minor antagonist that the fandom treats like trash(and you’ve spoken against in prior arguments).
Practice what you preach, or the words are worthless.

I’m sorry but there is a point of “He makes mistakes” being nothing but a paper thin excuse and people have a right to be outright hostile to him after he puts them at risk for laughs and pride a dozen times.
If he doesn’t understand and refuses to learn, it’s not a struggle.
It’s him getting special treatment because people like him, kind of like how the overwhelming majority of his popularity early on in the fandom was him being a child friendly Q from Star Trek.

most discord fans arent a fan of him because they think he’s this perfect upstanding guy but either because hes a funny jerk or for the other section which is me is because like fluttershy said before ‘sure discord makes mistakes sometimes but your accusing him of being downright evil’ Discord at heart is a caring friend and by eos is just as much of a caring friend as everyone else, just like everyone else he wanted to help twilight be confident in herself.
The difference being that discord still struggles with understanding right and wrong and whenever he does wanna help goes about it in his own chaotic way. But at heart if he didn’t wanna be better he would not take action to try to, he ironically wouldn’t have done what he done in s9 if he actually didn’t care at all. He can snap his fingers and take over anytime he wants but he doesn’t because he genuinely wants to be friends with these harmonic creatures. If you don’t get that or do and don’t care that’s fine, that’s neither here nor there and what I posted was just something related to the discussion.

Yet you Defend everything he does as though he deserves to be allowed anything he desires.
Discord is not a good person on principle or by his actions, and his intent to reform fell through the instant he allowed-I.E chose to not intervene as Grogar or himself-in Sombra’s death.
He failed out the gate and continued to egg the three on.
His attempt to reform was at best entrapement and worst an attempt to get them killed.
If Discord wishes to exist around others he can either be held to the same standard, or he can cease to exist.

For anyone who has seen Spider-Man: No Way Home, well, spoiler alert, but:
This reminds me of how Doctor Strange wanted to send the villains from the other universes back to where they came from, even if it meant they would meet their fate and die, but Peter Parker (Tom Holland) wanted to cure/reform the villains before sending them back, as that might make it so they wouldn’t die when sent back. Also, it seems that only Norman, Otto, and Max were fated to die. Flint and Kurt were probably not about to die when called over.
i had thought about that and it made me think that maybe people were right that it would have been better if discord was trying to reform instead however a clear difference is the spiderman villains were made bad guys by outside sources like having there transformations making them psychologically violent which is why they literally could be cured from villainy instead of it being completely by choice to be villains like it was for the trio.

Uh, no? She woke up to see Luna restraining the Trio and Celestia saying they are going to banish said Trio to another universe because apparently even petrification has failed. She hasn’t had time to alter the note, and there’s no evidence that either sister currently HAS the note on-person so that Twilight COULD alter the note were it to occur to her to do so.

-> That is precisely the reason I added “ . Forcibly supress Twilight Sparkle´s magic “ as the second prerequisite.
From the point of view of Celestia, Twilight just got “convinced” to return (either by her friends, the trio or herself in a sudden illogical swing). Celestia has not yet even considered “The Porpouse” of the de-stoning as a valid venue.
-> Twilight may had being manipulated by the 3, or she was already MAD & made them join her “crusade” instead…
If we assume Celestia believes Twilight left that “Note” in the middle of an “insanity attack” of some kind, then it follows that it would be unlikely for Twilight to even THINK about the “Note” in that moment [at least until her “obsession with redemption” subsides].
Instead, if Celestia is just trying to “counter” Twilight (in order to discern if “all of this nonsense” is some super_elaborated 5D_chess “secret loyalty test”), meaning Twilight was setting a complex “trap” for her pony friends for some reason [posibly including Celestia herself, perhaps as “payback” for all the B.S. the solar alicorn did to her in the past]; then it could mean The Two Sisters are already going out for blood ( IF when it becomes necesary), with this previous “parlay” being just a noble concession, rather than a patient attempt on reasoning.

Celestia and Luna have a note from Twilight stating the latter’s intention to reinstate them as Equestria’s monarchs, and revealing to us Twilight’s ability to alter the note’s contents.
The former makes the note evidence that they CAN do this to Cozy/Tirek/Chrysalis, and the latter means neither of them will let the note out of their sight until the transfer of power has been made official, which will be after Cozy/Tirek/Chrysalis have been dealt with, so that Twilight can’t get rid of the evidence while she still “isn’t thinking clearly” in their minds.

Now, the real question is HOW Celestia & Luna think is should be possible for just the 2 of them to simultaneously:
. Contain The Terrible Trio (already done).
. Forcibly supress Twilight Sparkle´s magic (doable).
. Block the Mane Five from escaping & telling everypony how The Alicorn Sisters are “taking over” the Kingdom by force right now.
. Send ALL of them to “Another Dimension”; creating a fake story for Discord & EVERYCREATURE else to not question the imposibility of a sudden “return” of them (without some unquestionable proof of the mane six irreversible demise, like their smoking/rotting corpses).
-> Either Celestia did not thought out this all the way through, or she is just BLUFFING [hoping Twilight will “snap out” of whatever “crisis of conscience” she may have had previously (unrelated to the trio, they are just victims of Twilight´s slip out of “sanity”)].

I mean, Strange was almost right. Most of the villains except Doc Ock eventually rose up to cause havoc. Norman even managed to, extra spoiler: kill Aunt May. Tom Holland Peter eventually wanted to send them back to die and even kill Norman himself until the other Spider-man’s convinced him overwise. And when Strange saw Peter actually succeeding redeeming the villains, he was actually cool with it and forgave Peter. At least Strange has a better attitude than Celestia here.

I know that about Flint. I was not thinking of Raimi!Harry or Eddie Brock, nor the Tom Hardy Eddie. I was referring to the 5 individuals/villains Doctor Strange locked up. Doctor Strange is like Celestia/Luna here, and Twilight Sparkle is like Peter Parker.
