Unfortunately, the double standards and the brainwashing of the what’s the “status quo” are way too deep.
If they’re decent parents they might understand and accept, because there’s a ton of hetero couples in childrens media, for example Disney, or FiM, which is (romance, love) is the same thing, just different sexes.
