Well now,that’s just depressingly funny.

“Staring up at Earth, a beautiful iridescent aqua-blue orb against the blackness of space, Rainbow Dash becomes forlorn as she reflects on how her lunar lander’s engines got crunched upon touchdown because landing legs were overlooked by the Brony Space Program that put her there. The BSP also, as if to mock her, attached a small solid-fuel rocket to the back of her spacesuit. It was made to look like an archetypical firework/bottle rocket, with a pointed nose cap and little red fins. While technically having enough delta-v to be considered a viable EVA-emergency-return device, a single unit mounted so far from her center of mass would do nothing more than send her into an uncontrollable spin, likely hastening her death, should she become stranded during a spacewalk.”
 
“The earth, the Equestrian flag, the backpack rocket, it was all oddly picturesque in a way, almost quaint, in this moment of idle contemplation. Rainbow subtly mused that if this were not such a dire situation, it might make a good picture, were somepony here to see it.”

She knew no one would witness her final hours, much less draw them or post them on some imageboard on the internet. Her lander’s transceivers were getting a good signal, but there was no response from mission control on the ground. As it was Saturday, all the bronies were undoubtedly watching the new MLP episode and tweeting about it.”
