FiM exists as part of a multimedia franchise of which toys are a part of. Licensing is pretty goddamn big for them.
I think the Ever After High webisodes are very cute, personally.
But yes, I’m very much looking forward to the new dolls. If the Applejack doll that was on the market right now looked like the one here, she would have been on my shelf a long time ago. XD
I think the webisodes are fun.
That being said, all these new dolls being revealed makes me giddy, I can’t wait to get them all! Next best thing to new brushables, I may even like the dolls more.
FiM exsists to shill toys. I fail to see why the toy quality should suffer in favor of the show.
I don’t think they want to do what Mattel’s been doing. Hasbro wants to make it a media franchise, and that means putting effort into non-toy productions. Ever see a MH video? Garbage. Only good thing about that franchise is build quality.
Mattel lost quite a bit of money in 2013. Plus, there’s no way that there isn’t brand fatigue with that franchise by now.
“only thing that resembles MH”
Have you been down a toy aisle lately? They’re full of clones of MH.
I’m aware. What I’m getting at is here is that if Hasbro really wants to dominate this market, it wouldn’t hurt to step up it’s game.
Yes, they said EG was the best fashion themed doll during the christmas week (from 22-28), which is the leftovers week, nothing to brag about.
It probably only sold because Monster High was already out of stock and EG was the only thing left that resembles MH.
Mattel has like, three franchises that actually make money. And have been hella scummy in various actions towards consumers. And actually lost money last year.
If there’s one thing I can say about Mattel, it’s that they put a helluva lot more effort into their merchandise then Hasbro.
Oh god, now the abominations are having even more abominations.
Funny how for Hasbro that their “put shit all over this plain design” toys is secondary.
Toy companies don’t work THAT fast. The next MH line is Freaky Fusion (not that anyone here cares), but as far as I knew, MH was still trucking along quiet well.
In the words of Fluttershy, “baby steps.”
They outsold it during Christmas 2013. It was a start for them that I’m sure they just love.
Rainbow Rocks launches in Fall, right? I’m expecting a “Monstrously Awesome Rock!” line from Mattel by July.
It’s more of a goal they’re working for than an achievement they possess.
“Taking down”? How did they “take down” Monster High?
Taking down Monster High really gives them a lot of positive encouragement, I guess.
Equestria Girls doesn’t have a spinoff cartoon.
