Lmao
You’re a little late for that, but okay.
They still look like a bad oc
No, I’m sorry. I was just being argumentative for no good reason. It’s a bad habit I try to avoid, but sometimes I slip up. I feel like an idiot now.
Noble? Me? Thanks for the compliment, but read three of my comments and you’ll change your tone.
Alright. Let me try to explain myself here. See, family’s really important to me and stuff like this makes me a little absolutely livid. I let my temper get the better of me and I apologize for lashing out at you.
Man, aren’t we angry about this. And it seems you have been busy arguing against a point I am not making.
All I said is, a single generation of inbreeding will not automatically produce deformities and the like. Never once did I say it was harmless. It’s most definitely not.
Maybe you should not let your simmering noble rage stop you from actually listening to what people are saying?
I’ll say I’m usually far more composed than that, but that would be a lie, now would it?
…
I feel like I’m talking to a fucking brick wall here. Interbreeding causes recessive genes to resurface thus making it way more likely for the child to have wierd diseases, weakened inmunological and nervous systems and all around physical deterioration. Maybe it surfaces in first generations, maybe in later generations, but you already fucked up, you made genes that were probably kept under by other genes passed on by the other partner resurface so that means someone is gonna get the short stick and live a sub-par life if they even make past their first year of life.
Incest. Is fucking. Stupid.
There, I have no way to dumb it down further. If you still think interbreeding it’s not a bad idea, don’t talk to me ever again.
Exactly. Like I said, it takes many generations of sustained inbreeding for the results to become apparent.
And yet many dog breeds are prone to uncommon diseases and internal deformities due to said interbreeding.
The scientific method does not work that way.
I had a cat whose father was also her grandfather. Despite her father’s own serious genetically inherited conditions, that also manifested in other members of their immediate family, she was perfectly healthy.
Keep in mind, all modern dog breeds are the product of generation upon generation of inbreeding. All of them. As a consequence, purebred dogs are often of frail health and prone to early deaths. And yet, even so, they are not walking masses of physical and mental deformities. In fact, many are incredibly athletic, extremely intelligent or capable of surviving in extremely harsh environments.
My point still stands. Interbreeding it’s not a good idea, whatever the species may be.
We’re talking about human inbreeding, not dog inbreeding. And horses inbreed alot.
Dude, I had a friend who’s dog had interbred puppies, they all died within a month. He knows what he’s talking about.
You shouldn’t automatically accept anything you read just because it’s in an article
May I direct you to Gundlach’s post?
I’m just gonna leave this here. It’s from an article about inbreeding.
“Inbreeding may result in a far higher phenotypic expression of deleterious recessive genes within a population than would normally be expected. As a result, first-generation inbred individuals are more likely to show physical and health defects, including:
Reduced fertility both in litter size and sperm viability
Increased genetic disorders
Fluctuating facial asymmetry
Lower birth rate
Higher infant mortality
Slower growth rate
Smaller adult size
Loss of immune system function”
Like the others said, one isolated incident in a family doesn’t cause major problems.
Now if you keep going in a family line, then you get the bad stuff like stunted growth and hemophilia.
