I don’t know what you mean by “too seriously”. As I explained earlier, I use that expression to describe how people start getting personal over it. What in the world do you classify as being too serious about it? Debating? Come on.
As for my posting history, you’re painting a pretty exaggerated picture if you think a few quips here and there amount to anything more than a few minutes a day. I’m not making stuff up when I say that I got busy and had to overlook and/or forgot about this conversation.
This seems to be an important point to you, but I really have no idea why it should be.
@Millennial Dan
All one has to do is look at this pages comments to see you took this Fluttershy thing way too seriously.
And for a guy who supposedly is way too busy with work, it looks like you make enough time to post at least four times a day with who knows how much time lurking. Yet you still felt the need to respond 18 days after anyone cared.
But looking at your attitude, it seems that I fell into a trolls nest and am just wasting my time. So congrats, you have that for a victory. :shrugs:

It’s so nice to be known for something. However, if you’re going to get personal, you could at least talk as yourself, wise guy.
It’s quite true that I’ll analyze the quarks right out of this show if I have the time, but it’s not so dear a subject to me that I feel like constantly attacking other people for their viewpoints. There have been times when I’ve been annoyed by the way those viewpoints were presented, but I’m not about to start calling people names just because they prefer the incredibly inferior season three to the others.
@biznizz
The length of time that has passed is exactly why I mentioned it. I work a ton of hours every week, and I just plain didn’t have time to come back and check up on everyone’s replies here.
Trolling is when someone is intentionally messing with people, and “lazy” is the last thing one could describe me as being. Besides, a cursory glance at some of these responses makes it obvious that several of the participants in this conversation are taking things way too seriously, if they’re going to insult me for opinions about a cartoon for children.
@Millennial Dan
Going “Get a life lol.” to avoid participating in an argument you started is lazy trolling.
The least you could’ve done that in playing this card was doing it closer to the last time this discussion had any real posts… nearly 2 1/2 weeks ago. That would be a more appropo time to play the “And another thing” card.
“I remember back in the Season 1 days I saw a guy on DA who refused to accept “Cutie-Mark Chronicles” as “canon,” because of it interfering with his headcanon, and because he didn’t like the idea of Dashie being the one responsible for helping the other “mane 6” to getting their cutie-marks, and such.
(Not saying I agree with him, as I liked that ep’ personally.)!
Who said that? I remember posting reviews on Lauren’s DA account, but I don’t think I ever said that.
@Beau Skunky
I’m totally willing to handwave the proto-CMC as normal childpanic behavior; kids tend to orbit other kids in a crisis if their parents/teacher aren’t around.
Season 1 is still brilliant, but it never stops being funny that pretty much every episode ends with a bunch of girls standing around and giggling.
Don’t worry, I know you’re not bashing it. Like I said, I’m on the same page as you with regards to Season one and how purists claim it’s the best the show ever was.
@Beau Skunky
Season 1 is actually my favorite, but only just barely over season 2, and season 4 is (so far) just barely below those two. (I liked season 3, but it struck me as a couple of notches below the others.) But I’ll freely admit that S1 had most of the same flaws that S1/S1+2 purists accuse post-Faust episodes of being riddled with, and I know my preference is mostly a matter of personal taste, rather than objective quality.
@Ebalosus
Yeah, I’m not “bashing” Season 1, I’m just saying it’s not the “pinnacle” of the entire show, and had some of the same “flaws” that purist-fans ironically only regard for the following seasons.
Also, not bashing “Look Before You Sleep,” I like that episode, (and I love Applejack & Rarity’s amusing interactions in it) but looking back at it, it was basically a “bottle episode.” So I was just using it as an example of a “simple episode plot” that would probably be hated by the S1-purists if it was a Season 4 ep’ instead. They’d probably say Twilight was being “OOC” or something, sense she seemed oddly giddier/goofier then she was in previous eps.
EXACTLY!
You know it.
I’m not going to look at the Discord one, since I know that it’s going to be the whole “HESSZZZ NOT SERIOUS OR POWERFULZ!!!!” bullshit lol.
You mean this bullshit?

Do I even need to spell out how STUPID it is? He hadn’t even SEEN the episode itself at the time yet flew into a frenzy.
I hate that cliched fanfiction jab, especially when some fanfics are praised as being “BETTER” than canon.

>people taking things too seriously about a children’s cartoon
Coming from you, that’s freaking hysterical.
