It seems more implied there was some kinda “medicine” in the needle.
This comic actually becomes a li’l funnier in hindsight now that Rumble was kinda a dick in a recent episode.
Also, Pulmonary Embolism. That’s when air in the blood vessels reaches the brain, interrupts the blood flow, and you die. So yeah, if that bubble reaches the heart or brain, you would probably die.
That could kill someone.

well, that’s just plain ol’ blood pressure at work there. the fluid pumping out keeps the air out until well after you’re alive enough to care about some air in your bloodstream. also, that’s why scabs tend to flake off outwards, though there are cases where a scab has caused a stroke; though those are usually in infants and the elderly.
Just gonna say…thank the gods they were smart enough to implement the defense to prevent this sort of bollocks when we cut ourselves…
it’s not just potentially fatal, it’s an almost one hundred percent death rate if you don’t go in for treatment BEFORE the stroke or heart attack it causes kills you. air causes blood to coagulate, so if you get air in your bloodstream it always results in a blood clot somewhere, and those usually end up in your brain.
