Nothing that image contradicts what Andy says, FYI. It just speaks more about what subject matter they can tackle.
Are you referring to the denial that I am mad? Because I don’t see how I could become mad by not reading a comic ;)
Likewise, I don’t see how I could become mad by not accepting comic canon in the same way I accept show canon. They’re filed in two completely seperate folders. I haven’t read a single issue past the Luna micro (in the miniseries) and the Zen 2-parter, and I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything at all.
Maybe I’ll go back during the hiatus and read a few more, but I’m not going to treat them any differently than I do fanfiction (which, for the record, I’ve never read any MLP fanfiction)- in that they’re fun stories told with characters I know, but doesn’t effect the show at all.
@Silver Smoulder
In your opinion.
I accept Flash Sentry. As in Twilight apparently finds him “handsome” which is good for my AiE fics because hell, she has a human fetish. And then she blushed. That’s the extent of Flash Sentry.
Now, this is entirely different. They flat-out say that they love each other. So, yeah, denial muchh?
@Background Pony #81CD
That’s a shame, it’s a very good comic.
Denial is not just a river in Egypt…
Except I’m not missing anything important or relevant to the show by not reading the comics.
So no. I not mad. I ignore. Like EQG. And nothing of value was lost.
Oh please, it’s more likely that Price is saying it for sales than anything else. Kind of like how Katie on Twitter said, “Those not enjoying it, you can start back up at issue 21 after Andy and I disappear into the mist for four issues. I respect your opinion!” With immediately saying, “…I WILL say that if you don’t read the new arc until the end, @AndyPriceArt might cry. I made him work overtime with what I wrote”
This also implies those books are cannon too. Some of them haven’t contradicted the show either. You know, even the rainbow rocks one that had, “The handsome Flash Sentry.” Just let it sink in. And don’t say EQG didn’t happen either, if the comics are canon, then that movie is equally as canon.
Except they said it’s canon, unless contradicted in the show.
U MAD?
No, I meant it as
@Zennistrad
said.
But thanks for playing.
If I don’t read the comics, I’m not missing out on anything “canon” to the show- unless the show starts making references to the comics. (Not bloody likely)
Spike and Rarity can still have a relationship in the show because what would make it pedophilia is a matter that wouldn’t even show up in the show, it would be pedophilia only if it was a sexual relationship.
…What>
Actually you are still wrong, pedophilia is about sexual attraction so they can still have a relationship in the show.
It would be nice if the show made some references to the comics like a Wheat Grass cameo or Fleetfoot having a serious crush on Big Mac, but Celestia marring Sombra would be a no go for me. Partly because I think it’s a Crack Ship but also because all the people who don’t read the comic wouldn’t even know what’s going on.
You’re right about that, but that really doesn’t change much for the Sparity scene, as most serious Sparity scenarios feature an aged up Spike, and those who do use current age spike tend to know full well what their doing… Tend to, at least.
And we did in fact dismantle your bestiality argument.
And here’s an issue with your argument: I’m not talking about pony laws. I’m talking about human laws. If it would be pedophilia by our standards, it doesn’t belong in the show.
Three Laws and a sense of guilt could do quite a lot.
Perhaps, but there are potential problems down that path as well.
Here, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT23zdgwNSk
Yes, it’s Gametheory, but it provides a good basis for my point.
Remember, fucking up AI design could at worst lead to the sterilization of Earth… and beyond.
I remember a lot of hipsters on fimfiction used Pegacorn before the “Alicorn” became the official name.
I’ve adressed AI and why there may be problems with that, but you haven’t responded yet…
“Pegacorn” or “Unisus.”
What were the other two options?
Commander Shepherd, Jack Harkness…
It’s much more likely humanity will have to deal with this sort of thing with sentient AIs before any sort of sapient alien species, but the basis for the ethics of it have been debated.
Ah, OK. Yeah, Equestria by necessity (diplomatic relations with griffon nations would be pretty awkward if griffons were legally animals under Equestrian law) probably has a different legal definition of person, one that likely covers Spike, with no legal rmification for coupling with non-Ponies who fell under this definition.
It be interesting is some parts of Equestria had local laws (as Sunbutt probably wouldn’t tolerate it on a federal level) that were/are Jim Crow like in those regards…
Isn’t that pretty much the case in any fantasy/sci-fi setting with multiple sentient species?
