I suck at reading! That’s just how I am. I don’t need first grade.
I think there may be a bit of confusion here about what is meant by the term who, since many people announcing a statement such as this probably mean what.
For example, “Cross-eyed pegasus mare who is a little goofy” is a concise definition of WHAT Derpy is, and she certainly should have no reason to regret it.
By contrast, an identity is something influenced by many factors, including but not limited to what a person is like. In that department, it’s true that reinforcing the “That’s just how I am!” mentality is usually a very unhelpful and incorrect way to think.
It was a joke. I find it silly, and foolish when people say something close to “be liked for who you are” or “be yourself”. Of course you shouldnt change on a whim for whoever the fuck it is, but if you’re an asshole with no good qualities, no one is gonna like you, and you probably should be sorry for being yourself because youre an asshole.
Just imagine how much sympathy Hitler would get if he said this. None.
