Hey, I think he’s done some genuine great vids since he came back, Wicker Man, Last Airbender, Worst Christmas Special, Bloodrayne, Bridge to Terabithia, Son of the Mask, Master of Disguise, Catwoman, and Ghost Dad were all good reviews in my opinion. I don’t think he was perfect pre-reboot. Independence Day, Transformers G1, James and the Giant Peach, Thomas and the Magic Railroad, Scooby Doo, Patch Addams, Star Trek 3, The Haunting, Airborne, and Home Alone 3 were all episodes that sucked big time.
What makes me hate Doug Walker now is his ‘I think I’m better and smarter than anyone else, I know everything, and you can’t tell me otherwise’ persona he has nowadays. He has the nerve to blame Demo Reel’s failure on his fans (never even stopping to consider that it wasn’t funny) and the genuine mean-spiritedness and ignorance I feel coming off of him.
To paraphrase Quieten Tarantino “Doug Walker’s head has disappeared so far up his own ass I have no desire to see anything else of his until he smartens up. And I lived him. Loved him.”
Good Lord, the amount of unfair hate that Doug (and Linkara) get these days astounds me.
I’m convinced that nothing these two put out will please some people. Which, ironically, is because of the very thing the Nostalgia Critic is defying. People holding unto the past, whether good or bad, and despising the present simply because it’s new.
The same could be said for Linkara…
Read some of his facebook posts and look at his V-logs and personal reviews, hell even listen to the commentaries. The line between Doug and The Critic ha become really blurred, Walker has forgotten that the Critic is a character, and now it’s just him acting as himself. He has lost his fucking mind on how comedy and writing is supposed to work, not to mention the complete and utter hypocrisy and sexism of his newer videos.
You mean Nostalgia Critic, of course. Because the Critic is not Doug and Doug is not the Critic, and Doug is none of those things you said.
No, I don’t mind Linkara, but there are times when he gets on my nerves. Those Wrath of Khan comic reviews were pretty damn whiny and annoying, but at least he tries to be a nice guy, Doug Walker seems to be trying to be the world’s biggest asshole nowadays.
That doesn’t sound like he has “fallan” just that you don’t care for the newer stuff.
I don’t want to get into it, but Doug Walker literally used to me be a personal hero of mine who used to make me laugh nonstop… and now it’s a miracle if he can get one small chuckle out of me and this didn’t even get a smirk. I also can’t personally stand him, he’s become so preachy, hypocritical, pretentious, and mean spirited that I can’t stand him anymore and rarely watch the new reviews unless I hear really good things. Since the reboot there have been five or six episodes that I consider to be funny and worth watching. That’s not a lot.
Fallen? But this is a great joke.
