Poners are small. You could probably replace the main command chair with two smaller chairs if the cockpit is roomy enough, so you can stick a pony who can cast a forcefield bubble behind the pilot. Might surprise enemy mechwarriors who don’t expect an opposition mech to be carrying it’s very own miniature Detonator Grid around with it.

Why yes, I HAVE read Rokas’ Falling Stars. Why do you ask?

Yes, the battlemech’s name just depends on where the person describing it comes from (you’re correct on Clan/Inner Sphere Timber Wolf/Mad Cat distinction).

There are plenty of weapon variants for the Timber Wolf/Mad Cat but they would just be referred to as “Alt. Config (A-Z)”; there’s no mech naming scheme based on weapon loadout (the only exception would be from the MechAssault series since there is no mech customization).

looks like a Timberwolf. The Madcat has machine guns not pulse lasers.
Machine guns. PPC cannons, and javelin missiles. Timber wolf is gauss rifles, crossbow missiles and pulse lasers.
