Background Pony #14C4
A laugh, humored and yet bitter, escaped Adagio’s mouth as she looked at all the delectable pastries through the window. “I really thought I’d see myself doing this.” She said as casually as she could. “There I was, saying all those things were good for was making the humans fatter. Now I’m making out with a window, wondering if I can break in and snatch one before they catch me.”

It was a joke with humor as black as coffee. While it caused Aria to snicker, Sonata was quick to toss her leader an upset look. “Don’t joke like that!” She whined, her voice as distraught as her expression. Her response only caused Adagio to laugh a little herself - a sound that expressed as much pain as it tried to hide.

“I have to find something to laugh about, Sonata. You two have been buzz kills ever since our pendants broke.”

Aria gave a wry smirk, blinking a few times to keep the tears from starting. “Not that I’d make a habit out of it, but this isn’t exactly something to jump for joy about.”

Adagio’s smile slowly faded, and what little spirit she had forced into her eyes faded away. “Fair point…” She gave a heavy sigh, her expression weary as she slid her palms off the glass. “Come on, girls. Let’s go. I don’t want the joke to become a reality.”
