The director hinted that he is still not fully reformed. I’m guessing Discord will do something for others out of his own good will in a next season and his reformation will progress very slowly. For now he is just learning more friendship lessons

Fan of both G4 and G5

You know, it would be interesting to see an episode where someone upsets Fluttershy(either intentionally or by accident) and Discord upon hearing of it(and trying to comfort Fluttershy as only he can) decides to inflict some of his chaos on that pony as payback. Of course Shy and the others would then have a time of getting him to back off. Yeah it sounds cliched but it would provide some much needed character development for the lord of chaos.
