I like this. From what Larson has said in Season 1 it was sort of just “anything goes” as long as the executives approved it (including Faust). Now with a bigger world there’s probably more back and forth discussion about things.

Well, bear in mind that this is a world where the capital city is literally visible from the town square, and a sky chariot– which can be clearly seen by Ponyvillians as it takes off from a Canterlot balcony– travels the distance in only a minute or so, but to get to Appleloosa requires an overnight train ride even though it’s only about twice as far away from Ponyville on the map. It’s entirely possible that house is several miles away on Golden Harvest/Carrot Top’s farm, but it’s just as possible it’s a CMC clubhouse-size structure on the other side of the hill.

I actually really like the idea that even among the staff, they have their own headcanons. “Wait, that’s where Carrot Top lives? I always thought it was, like, a guest house or something.”

Really, OP? Do you know how much stuff Lauren Faust left undecided and undeveloped, keeping it in limbo until a story touched on it? Stuff like, say, Fluttershy’s and Rainbow Dash’s families, which would seem maybe a tad more important than a building that’s appeared in the background in a handful of shots?

Mane salon, I’d assume. If you look closely, it’s connected to the tented building, and I know that one is the Aloe sister’s spa. Dunno about the fruity one though.

Oops. I think I got it confused with the Carrot Shop. I’m pretty sure she lived there before the Sweet Apple Acres update, but I may be misremembering.

What more do you want from them, OP? They gave you an honest answer to your question, they don’t know which pony lives in that random background art asset.
 
When they start answering your questions with “Wow, who cares?” then you can complain.

I actually like the idea of the staff sitting around for a meeting, and at the end when the chairperson asks, “Any other business?” someone pipes up, “Hey, about that house with the carrot on top on Applejack’s farm? That’s where Carrot Top lives, right? Just checking?”
