But the unhappiest women alive are ones who reject those standards of beauty and end up single when they’re 50.  
So I would argue it does more good than harm personally.

No, ending up lonely have much more to do with how you interact with people than how do you look. People who are bad at approaching people, or are bad at maintaining relationships are the people who end up alone.  
Besides there are many Subcultures that reject mainstream beauty ideals and substitute them for alternate ideals.  
Most importantly though, body weight is not the only element that determine is someone is good looking. Being healthy, well groomed and with good body symmetry always comes first.  
One can easily reject the ideal that the thinner the better and still maintain a good look.

Relationships are formed primarily on attraction, which is primarily physical.  
And the women who end up lonely by eschewing feminine beauty rarely have great personalities anyway. They tend to be more entitled and combatative
 
And saying that different standards of beauty exist is just a deflection. People who belong to those standards and reject them aren’t doing themselves any favors either.

A lot of people seem to think that the quality of writing has improved since season 3. I myself have enjoyed Season 4 so far even more than Seasons 1 and 2.

It’s not “dragging it down the tubes,” it’s using something that you know to be successful to launch something/test something that may or may not be successful. Again, an example is Skylanders, which piggybacked off of Spyro’s name until it proved to be a sustainable franchise on its own.
 
And no, they own enough of Jem now, I believe. They got it and a bunch of G1 stuff back last year.

He’s still a playable character, but not a main one. And the franchise wouldn’t exist without him, plus he was the main character in the first game.

I wonder what that would entail for Twilight if EqG actually does take off. I’m willing to bet since the dolls are more fashion-centric that Rarity becomes main and uplifts Coco. Then they eventually have a Jem crossover to relaunch that. This is the only scenario in which I’d accept EqG.
