Season 4 sneak peak discussion.

Yes, filled with spoilers, so if you don’t want any spoilers, please don’t read on.
 
 
So, it’s happened, and as usual theres going to be tons of unpleasable fan’s who will get mad “What?!? pony super heroes, that’s the last straw, this show’s failed! whinewhinewhine!”, you know, the people who nitpick every episode and talk about how horrid the show is, and yet still continue to watch it strangely enough. The people who get all whiney when the writers try something different, but are still whiney if they got exactly what they want, then complain that the show’s pandering to them.
 
I for one am excited to the point of insanity, and personally can’t wait for the new season. ^^

I’m hyped for it. Yes even the superhero pony ones. That episode is probably gonna be real goofy, but personally, I don’t mind that. And it’s superheros. Superheros roooooock.

I did’nt mind Mare Do well either. Some people just seem to love being overly critical of a show that “They can watch for FREE”. They spend all this time setting ultra high standards and being all serious, instead of just relaxing and enjoying the ride.

There’s nothing wrong with having standards. But when it comes to MLP I realize the writers aren’t as good as the ones for something like Supernatural or Avatar, so I set them lower.
 
Also, yeah, I too like just relaxing and enjoying the ride. But that’s just me.

Well, it was certainly better than the sneak peek we got last year.

I do however have one sneaking suspicion/theory in regards to that last scene.
 
Now, everyones obviously going to say at first glance “oh, so the new villain is just nightmare moon again.”. And that’s understandable.
 
However, i’m placing my money on an alternative theory. Twilight looks confused at where she is, and asks Luna where she and Celestia went. So, there is the possibility that that scene is happening in twilights mind. and maybe, it’s taking twilight over instead?
 
It’s a long shot of course, but who knows…. :P

I thought it was pretty obvious that Twilight is in Celestia’s place and that everyone is seeing Celestia instead of her…

My money is on some kinda of history playback and she’s seeing the rise (literally) of Nightmare Moon.
 
Also with the superhero one. It’s some kind of spell that trapped them in one of Spike’s comic books. Calling it now.

Well, he knew all of the hero names, so i’m imagining it could be his imagination/dream, and the mane 6 are taking the places of some comics he’s been reading.

I’d wager a large segment of the adult fandom doesn’t watch the show via any official source. Actually, since there’s many non-US fans, I’d guarantee that.

We have the Scootaloo episode back, that was what I asked for in S4.

Now if only the deer episode is brought back as well. No drama about anything revealed in S4 yet?

Deer episode was an awful idea that would have ruined RD’s character and have incredibly awful implications.

It was one of Faust’s original ideas for an episode that she (thankfully) decided not to make. Probably a good idea, since she cast Dash into the “you’re a PONY, PONIES ARE BETTER THAN DEER” role and had Twilight be completely useless.
 
People tried to rewrite it and make it a fan episode. That fell apart partially because no one could make the episode not horribly depressing, even if they took out RD’s brashness.

Would Dash have necessarily taken a ponies>deer tack? From what I heard, it would’ve been that she wanted to prove to him he’s not a deer.
 
And what would those >implications have been?

Yeah, she would have probably gone that way. Probably going to get some flak for this, but Faust doesn’t exactly create specific stories as well as she can create just a general concept.
 
Implications that would have made ponies even more racist than they already are, of course.
 
But as for S4, I already prefer what I’ve seen to the S3 teaser last year.
