Yu-Gi-Oh:Pony Edition

We’ve all seen the world of Duel Monsters from the eyes of humans. We’ve seen heroes settle the fate of the world with it. We’re not alone. The ponies of Equestria have started doing this too. They use it in their conflicts as a resolution.
 
We start in Canterlot with a very shady character with an all new never before seen deck.

the game had quickly taken the nation by storm, everyone from the schoolfoals to the nobility played it, in conclusion of course tournaments quickly sprung up as well, a few illusionist mages making a mint from the development of dueling necklaces to bring the cards to life.
 
one such tournament was happening right now.

Clerk: “thank you, now i just need a name.”

“you signed up just in time, the first round will start soon… and it seems you get to fight right away, you’re going up against Trixie lulamoon… and as a personal favor to me, please win, she is a lousy winner.”

(Do we want to go with the show’s 4,000, or the real worlds’ 8,000? Either will do, just making sure we know both are available.)

(4000 for now, they probably want duels to go down faster in the tournaments.)

“and the show begins, or rather the preparation that is needed for the grandness, as such i will play a monster face down, as well as four other cards.”

“actually no, i must set the stage after all, i play out circe de finesse.”
 
on that she plays the last card on her hand turning their surroundings into the ring of a circus.
 
“now the preparations are done, your turn.”

“A field spell. Haven’t seen one of those in a while. My turn!”
 
Zaknel draws a card from a deck with his magic.
 
“Due to this card’s effect, if there are monsters on your side of the field, I can special summon it to my side of the field. Say hello to Arieka, The Shade.”
 
(I propose that we use [] when describing cards, like this:)
 
[Arieka, The Shade is a level six dark attribute fiend type monster with 0 ATK points and 2,500 DEF points.]

up in the stands a few veteran players also exchanged looks.
 
“the card is definitely real, the illusion crystals would reject it otherwise.”
 
“we need to make a proper compendium of all those cards one day.”

Zaknel then summons Rira, the Speck to the field in face-up attack position.
 
[Rira, the Speck is a level one dark attribute fiend type monster with 300 ATK and DEF points]
 
“Due to this little guys effect, I can increase his ATK points by that of either the ATK or DEF points of one other face-up monster on my field until my next Standby phase. I choose Arieka, The Shade’s DEF points.”
 
Rira, the Speck’s ATK points are now 2,800.
 
“Now, Rira, the Speck, attack Trixie’s face-down monster!”

“ah ah ah, what would a proper mage be without her magical cups?”
 
[magical cups was a trap card that activates when an attack is initiated and can reroute the attack to a monster of your choice.]
 
“now watch in awe as Rira the speck destroys your Arieka, which as typical of special summons is still in attack position, you should have switched that before.”

“Quickplay spell activate: whenever a monster I control is destroyed by battle this turn, you take damage equal to that monster’s level multiplied by two-hundred.”

“i shall take it with dignity, seeing as i still have the lead.”
 
that much was true you had brought yourself down to 1200 in one strike.

“Main phase 2 now begins.”
 
“I activate the spell card exchange of the two sufferers. With this card’s effect, since you took effectdamage, and I have less than 1,500 life points, I can add any dark attribute monster from my deck to my hand. I choose Rabia.”
 
“Next, I activate the spell card, tribute to the Umbrum. Since a monster on my field was destroyed in battle during my turn, I can summon twice. I release Rira, the Speck to bring forth Rabia.”
 
[Rabia is a level 6 dark attribute fiend type monster with 2,450 ATK and DEF points that cannot be effected by spells or trap cards once per turn.]
 
“I set one card face-down and end my turn.”

“that means it’s my turn, i flip summon Ringmaster Magnifi de Finesse.”
 
[ringmaster Magnifi is a level 4 fire spellcaster type, normally sporting 1650 attack and 1500 defense, his effect upon flip allows to special summon 2 monsters with finesse in their name.]
 
“roll up and see the amazing Equine cannonball de Finesse”
 
[equine cannonball de finesse is a level 3 fire pyro monster sporting a nice 1500 Atk and Def, more important though was the effect, it could at will be sacrificed to drag another monster along to the graveyard.]
 
“and give it up for Beppi de Finesse.”
 
[beppi de finesse was a level 5 monster earth and warrior type sporting 500 atk but 2000 def, by his special effect as long as he remained face up on the field ringmaster magnifi could not be destroyed.]
 
“now admittedly the effect of cirque de finesse is not much help in attacking, but the circus is their home turf and on it they are strong.”
 
{cirque de finesse granted an extra 400 def to the finesse monsters, as well as making them non targets for any effects that chose a specific target.}
